Frequency is the need to urinate more often than usual. However, there isn’t really a clear definition of “frequent” when it comes to how often you urinate. The key to deciding if you have issues with frequent urination is whether the need to urinate often is creating challenges in your life. Patients can often feel anxious when they are not near a lavatory.
Urgent urination or Urgency is an overwhelming need to get to a lavatory immediately. It may be accompanied by pain or discomfort in the bladder or urinary tract. Frequency and Urgency issues often occur together, we call this Overactive Bladder.
Urinary incontinence is when the normal process of storing and passing urine is disrupted. This can happen for several reasons. Certain factors may also increase your chance of developing urinary incontinence. Some of the possible causes lead to short-term urinary incontinence, while others may cause a long-term problem. If the cause is treated, this may cure your incontinence.
